Every great story has a humble beginning. Ours started with a simple wish — to build a place where children feel as safe, loved, and "just right" as Goldilocks did when she found her perfect chair, bowl, and bed.
Our Story
Every fairy tale has a beginning — and ours started with a simple belief: every child deserves a learning environment that feels “just right.”
We named ourselves after the beloved fairy tale because its message is at the heart of everything we do: finding the perfect balance. Just as Goldilocks wandered into the bears’ house and discovered that some things were too big, some too small, and some just right — we believe that education is not one-size-fits-all.
Today, with two state-of-the-art locations in Wallington and Rutherford, we serve hundreds of families from diverse backgrounds. We like to think of our teachers as the three bears — warm like Papa Bear, gentle like Mama Bear, and playful like Baby Bear. Together, they create a family atmosphere where every child feels safe, valued, and ready to explore the world.

Choosing a day care is a bit like Goldilocks standing in front of three doors - you want to find the one that's "just right." Here's everything you need to know about what happens inside our fairy tale walls.
- What ages do you accept?
Our Wallington location welcomes children from infancy to 13 years. Rutherford accepts ages 2½ to 13 years.
- What are your hours?
Monday–Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We are open all year round — no need to worry about school holidays or breaks.
- Are you licensed?
Absolutely! Goldilocks is NJ State licensed with certified teachers in every classroom. Safety, quality, and professionalism are the three pillars of our enchanted house.
- Do you offer full-day and half-day programs?
Yes! We offer flexible scheduling with both full-day and half-day options, so you can find the arrangement that’s “just right” for your family.
- What should my child bring?
A change of clothes, a favorite comfort item (a blanket or stuffed bear, perhaps!), and a big smile. We provide healthy snacks and meals. A detailed supply list is given at enrollment.
- How do I enroll my child?
You can register online through our website, call us at 201-460-1770, or simply walk into either location for a personal tour. Our doors — like the bears’ front door — are always open!
- Do you offer pickup from local schools?
Yes! We pick up from select local schools. Call us for details, routes, and availability.
